Getting USDC onto Tradex

Tradex uses USDC on the Base network for all trades. Here's what that actually means and how to get set up, whether or not you've used crypto before.

Get a wallet (one-time, free, no sign-up)

You need a self-custody wallet -- an app that holds your own keys, like MetaMask or Trust Wallet. This is different from an exchange account: there's no registration, no phone number, no KYC, and no country restriction of any kind -- it's just an app on your phone or browser that generates an address you control.

When you install it, make sure it's connected to the Base network (both MetaMask and Trust Wallet support Base natively -- you may need to add it as a network the first time, which the wallet's own setup usually walks you through).

Get USDC into that wallet

This is the step that actually requires an exchange or on-ramp, since you need to convert regular money into USDC somewhere. Options depend on where you are:

  • A local, licensed exchange in your country, if one exists -- buy USDC (or a coin you can swap for it) and withdraw directly to your Base wallet address.
  • An international exchange that supports your country and phone number, and supports withdrawing to Base.
  • Already have crypto on a different network? You can bridge it to Base using a bridging tool.

Send it to your Tradex deposit address

On the Wallet page, generate your deposit address, then send USDC to it from your wallet. It's credited automatically once it's confirmed on-chain -- usually a few minutes.

Note for users in Tajikistan

Crypto is not illegal in Tajikistan, but it isn't legal tender either, and current rules prohibit using it directly as payment for goods or services. Holding, trading, and moving USDC through your own wallet (steps 1 and 3 above) isn't a payment in that sense -- it's the on-ramp in step 2 where local rules matter most. Bitcom.tj is, as of this writing, the first exchange operating under a formal legal license in Tajikistan (via the IT Park's regulatory regime), with support for Tajik phone numbers and local documentation.
